Since the first place you start on a trip is packing and planning, I figured I'd take the stress of what to pack for your pup away by helping you pack a first aid kit for your pets!

Pet First Aid Kit

The first item you need for your pets first aid kit is a container to hold it all in. I've attached a link to an Amazon water resistant, easily cleaned container below.

The first thing you should place in your container is documentation for your pets including any pertinent medical information, medications, and list of vaccines your pet is up to date on.

If your pet gets a cut or scratch, you'll want a good cleaner and something to wrap it with until you can get to a veterinarian. Place the gauze pad on the wound, then wrap with vet wrap to prevent further contamination. The attached link for the vet wrap has a cute design! Don't delay getting your pet seen by a veterinarian so they can assess if stitches, antibiotics, or any additional medical attention are necessary. Latex or nitrile gloves should be in your kit as well.

It's important to keep your pets hydrated on your travels. This portable water bottle is super easy to use and has a bowl attached for your pets to drink from. I've also included a link to a collapsible dog bowl with lids. My husband and I don't leave the house without these two items on any trip with our dogs!

Lastly, one more item you should add in your first aid kit is a flea comb. This can be super useful to remove fleas, ticks, burrs, or other unwanted items when your dogs inevitably run through tall grasses and get things in their coats!

Thank you!

Thank you for reading my first blog post! I'm excited to share more with all of you and hope this helps make you feel more comfortable with your pets!
